States Take Step Back in 2014 In Enacting Advanced Energy Laws

With federal environmental regulations targeting the power sector slated to be finalized this year, states enacted about 40% fewer advanced energy bills in 2014 than they did the year before, according to a recent study. State legislatures enacted 430 so-called advanced energy bills - those that deal with energy efficiency, demand response, or expanded use of natural gas or renewables, according to Colorado State University's Center for the New Energy Economy (CNEE).
