What was hot at the ICS meeting 2013?

The 43rd annual meeting of the International Continence Society (ICS) was held in the historic Catalan capital of Barcelona under the excellent leadership of Professors David Castro-Diaz and Montse Espuna. This was the first time the meeting has been held in Spain and as ever featured a wide selection of engaging activities including workshops, roundtables and meet the experts sessions in addition to a comprehensive scientific programme that encompassed all aspects of continence, lower urinary tract dysfunction and pelvic floor disorders.This year's annual meeting attracted the second highest total number of submissions for a standalone ICS meeting (Fig. 1). Eight hundred eighty-three abstracts were included in the scientific programme from 1,062 submissions, with worldwide representation (Fig. 2). Of these, 40 were podium presentations, 238 discussed posters, and 6 were videos while 321 were non-discussion posters or videos and 278 were read by title.
