摘要

The concept of the final polishing of hardened steels and nonferrous metals using nanodispersed tri-bochemically active abrasives based on solid solutions of aluminum and iron oxides is set out in terms of mechanical chemistry. It is demonstrated that the polishing velocity and quality of metals are determined by the formation of an oxide film on their surface and its removal. In order to describe polishing kinetics, the equations for heterogeneous processes are applied. It is shown that the application of these abrasive materials reduces the number of finishing operations with the achievement of a surface roughness no higher than R_a 0.005μm.
