Aquatic plants: Their benefits and uses

Aquatic plants which thrive in wetlands such as lakes, rivers, ponds, and even: in rice paddies contribute to the richness of flora biodiversity in aquatic and agroecosystems. Their dainty and colorful flowers and foliage beautify the usually abandoned and unattractive wetland landscapes. These species are usually taken for granted and considered often as weeds and pests due to their prolific growth even without cultivation or tending. In spite of this, aquatic plants provide benefits or advantages to man and his environment.
