A numerical procedure for determination of the locus of maximal equivalent stress for beams under oblique bending and torsion with arbitrary cross section
An algorithm is presented for determination of the locus of maximal equivalent stress for beams under oblique bending and torsion. The beam can have an arbitrary cross section. The torsion stress is computed with boundary elements. With the arclength of the boundary a one-dimensional problem is obtained. The algorithm is embedded into a CAD system. Test computations demonstrate the high accuracy of the new algorithm.
