摘要

In recent years, gear rattle noise radiated from the gear housing and its nearby components of a diesel engine has emerged as a major source of noise. Pumps for higher fuel injection pressure for countermeasure of gaseous emission regulation leads to increased gear rattle. The paper describes the analysis of gear rattle mechanism by test and dynamic simulation to establish its prediction at the design stage. Simulation of gear train and its ancillaries of 4-cylinder engine have been conducted and validated with test data.
