Spray drift can not only result in wasted chemical, poor efficacy and the risk of crop losses on-farm but it can also impact on the crops of neighbouring properties. As a result, measures to minimise drift should be implemented wherever possible. Spraying can be a delicate balancing act between achieving effective coverage and reducing drift (loss), or spray contamination of off-target areas. Spray drift can become a serious issue, not only for non-targeted crops on farm, but also on neighbouring properties, which can result in legal action to recover crop losses.
