For much of the Australian wheatbelt the time of sowing and the timing of the seasonalbreak is as critical as it is unpredictable — commonly occurring anytime between April and June, and sometimes even later.Most Australian wheat varieties are 'spring habit' types, which means growers require varieties with different maturities for early-, mid- or late-season sowing.
