Pasture researchers seek high and low for suitable options to meet the challenges of Australia's harsh conditions with no guarantee of success. Farming Ahead spoke with passionate pasture researcher, Professor John Howieson to get the story behind hissearch for sustainable pasture alternatives and his success with the biserrula cultivar. The new biserrula cultivars developed by scientists from the Department of Agriculture and Food WA (DAFWA), Murdoch University and the CRC for Legumes in Mediterranean Agriculture (CLIMA), are the first commercial cultivars of the species available worldwide.
