Heat treatment of yarn roving etc. with liq. paste etc. - by passage through duct wider than yarn roving

A continuous textile eg. yarn, roving, sliver filament, which has been treated with e.g. a paste, liquid, solid conditioning agent is effected by passage of the textile in an air stream through a duct whose internal dimensions are 20-100 mm greater than the transverse dimensions of the textile. The air stream is heated and travels at a speed 4-8 times greater than the feed speed of the textile, and the length of the duct is 2-50 metres.
