摘要

A scavenging flow simulation using CFD analysis was applied to a small environ-mental-friendly 2-cycle engine. In this simulation, it became possible to observe the flow of gas inside the engine, which until now had been optically difficult As aresult, it became possible to observe visually the effect of the environmental- friendly small 2-cycle engine in reducing the mixture short-circuiting, which is one defect of the 2-cycle engine. In addition, it became possible to use simulation to carryout bench tests on the effect of the changes in the port parameter, for which it had been difficult to carry out bench tests until now.In this paper, we report the scavenge flow simulation method, examples of its application to environment-friendly small 2 cycle engines, accuracy of the analysis, and technical problems.
