Veterinary care of free-living birds - Part 2: Not traumatic caused diseases

Free-living birds, which can be caught by humans, are often brought by concerned citizens in the veterinary practice. The veterinary ethics and professional code requires these animals to help. Here one should note that these birds can habour a variety of infectious agents. In particular, due to stress or failures in feeding or unilateral anti-infective therapies these pathogens can also change or dominate the clinical signs. Also observed increased deaths of wild birds regularly lead to contact with a veterinarian and ask for appropriate skills.
