BMI View: While India continues to show outward signs that it will not allow new US and EU sanctions to deter it from continuing to import Iranian crude oil, New Delhi is likely to lessen its reliance on Iran by importing more oil from Arab Gulf states. India was to send a business delegation to Iran in February 2012 to strike up new non-oil export deals, an unnamed government of- fcial told Reuters on February 2 2012. The offcial conceded that any new trade-related agreements would have to be agreed by the traders themselves.
