Coal's future stronger if it gets greener ,says Minister

Energy Minister Brian Wilson has spelt out the challenge for the future of coal-fired electricity generation. "It must contribute to our commitment to reduce greenhouse gases," he said at the launch of a report on cleaner coal technologies.He said: "Coal still has a key role to play in generating electricity in the UK. But the way we extract power from coal must become kinder to the environment if we are to meet our commitments on reducing greenhouse gases and other polluting emissions.
