Reflections of attending the 1st Global Conference of the Doctoral Midwifery Research Society, September 2010

摘要

As a midwifery lecturer, it is my custom to extol the virtues of reflection to students based on the premise that it enhances our knowledge and understanding. In order to practise what I recommend, I decided to undertake a reflective framework to evaluate and consider the experience of attending the 1st Global Conference of the Doctoral Midwifery Research Society (DMRS) held in Northern Ireland in September 2010. The chosen reflective framework is Gibbs (1988) which will be my reference point throughout so that the reader can see the transparency in the reflective process.
