In a UK market that was struggling to keep from falling off the horizontal, Porsche had a good 2012. Globally the company saw sales of 141, 000 units - up 18 per cent on the previous 12 months - and in Britain demand was up by 25 per cent. With plenty of new product on the way, there's every chance it will do at least the same volume this year. The third generation Cayman coupe is about to launch, there's a new Cayenne diesel, the four-door Panamera is getting a plug-in hybrid powertrain and probably the most eagerly anticipated car of 2013, the 770bhp yet just 70g/km 918 Spyder, arrives in showrooms from September. There are also a couple of 911 variants left to launch, and given they're the popular Carrera 4 and 4S all-wheel drive models, they should make a healthy contribution towards the sales total.
