PROF. WLADYSLAW GLUZINSKI (1914-1991) A PERSON OF MERIT IN THE SCIENTIFIC MINING BACKGROUND

The article presents prof.Wladyslaw Gluzinski, an outstanding specialist in underground mine electrical equipment of normal and explosion-proof construction, an initiator of providing mines with new electrical machines. The period of his greatest professional achievements happened during his employment in Constructional and Mechanical Plant of Coal Industry (ZKMPW), R&D Centre for Mining Mechanisation, Electrical Engineering and Automation Systems (OBR SMEAG) and EMAG Centre where he conducted a lot of research work necessary to produce mining machines and equipment for comprehensive mechanisation and electrification of mines. His scientific and pedagogical attainments obtained at University of Mining and Metallurgy (AGH) in Krakow, School of Engineering (WSI) in Katowice and Silesian University of Technology (Politechnika Slaska) in Gliwice are also described.
