In the early forties, I was taking a test in Physics under professor A.E. Bellis. When I had done all that I could and while I was turning in my paper, I mentioned that there was one problem that I had no idea how to solve. I asked Bellis if he could show me the solution. He took out his pen and in red ink went through the entire solution on my test paper. When the papers were returned I found that I had been given full credit for the problem. I could not resist mentioning to Bellis how surprised I was to get credit for a problem he had obviously done. He carefully looked at the problem and said: "It's correct, isn't it?" We all enjoyed hearing Professor Leo Jasen read excerpts from Boccaccio's "De Cameron" in literature, but we did not look forward to the final exam. In preparation, one of our classmates wrote the notes for the entire course on a narrow strip of paper. When finished it was about twenty feet long with a nail at each end.
