INCREASES IN BUCKET availability, tonnage moved and a bankable reduction in cost per tonne expenses are among the benefits the Wearpact bucket edge system has given Newcrest Mining lid's Ridgeway gold-copper operation near Orange in New South Wales. Manufactured in Australia by GET specialists Keech Castings, the Wearpact system has been fitted to selected underground buckets at the Ridgeway operation by Newcastle-based "process of improvement company" Wear Applications and Management Services (WAMS) as part of a maintenance contract to lift bucket performance and reduce the mine's cost per tonne ratio.
