THE FORMER MID tier Western Australian mining executive - who has indicated he will stand back from Australia's minerals sector after selling his much prized Jubilee to Swiss miner Xstrata Plc for just over 3 billion dollars earlier this year - displayed his humble side, albeit in a broader cosmic sense, during his appearance at this year's Association of Mining and Exploration Companies Inc's 2008 National Mining Congress in WA. "I believe there are far greater challenges ahead for us as a civilization that we can ever imagine," Harmanis said during this year's Arvi Parbo Oration.
