The acquisition of the Mokopane Platreef project in South Africa has moved AIM Resources Ltd closer to its goal of becoming a significant player in the African resources sector. The company exercised its option to purchase the project from Thabex Exploration Ltd, a company listed on the JSE Securities Exchange in South Africa, for 20 million Rand. AIM managing director Marc Flory said the company was very positive on the future of the project. "Infrastructure is excellent and the project is well located being immediately south of Robert Friedland's African Minerals Platreef project and along strike from Anglo Platinum's Sandsloot operation that produced around 350,000 ounces of PGMs last year," he said. The acquisition is part of the company's strategy to acquire and develop advanced resource projects.
