AN AUSTRALIAN JUNIOR on the verge of becoming a significant precious metal producer in South America took another step forward last month, announcing it had completed negotiations on two new gold plays in Brazil. Mundo Minerals Ltd - which is set to pour first gold at its wholly owned Engenho project in the Latin American nation following the commencement of mining earlier this year -has conducted initial due diligence on both the Brazilian Nova Prata and Jaqueira gold plays. These areas are covered by a couple of transactions that have been structured to enable the Perth-based company to assess their potential before committing significant capital to acquire them.
