New centre for Tasmania

The Federal Government will fund a Centre of Excellence in Ore Deposits at the University of Tasmania. Eleven new Centres of Excellence have been funded by the Australian Research Council in this latest round of grants The Centre of Excellence will build on the outstanding reputation of the current Centre for Ore Deposit Research (CODES) and the School of Earth Sciences at UTAS. UTAS will be the lead institution, linking with other internationally recognised research groups--including Colorado School of Mines, Johns Hopkins University, University of British Columbia, Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre at University of Queensland, ANU, University of Melbourne and CSIRO.
