Active junior Avoca Resources Ltd is looking seriously at establishing its own gravity .separation plant to treat the ore sourced from its Higginsville project in Western Australia. Avoca's managing director Rohan Williams said the company -- which holds around 1,000 square kilometres of real estate between Gold Fields Ltd's St Ives mine and Croesus Mining NL's Norseman operation in WA's eastern goldfields -- hoped to be pouring gold within 12 months. Following its acquisition of Higginsville from Gold Fields in 2004, the junior announced it had discovered the Trident ore body, which is situated some 150 metres at depth. Comprised of two steeply-dipping mineralised zones (appropriately called the eastern and western zones), Trident is located immediately north of the mothballed Poseidon South operation. In late April Avoca reported its latest assay results, which indicated the presence of a very high-grade, shallow dipping vein (with 7m at 72 grams/tonne from 383m being recorded) below the western zone as well as the possibility of another steeply-dipping vein in the hanging wall of the eastern zone (where 1m at 162 g/t was returned).
