An important new achievement in wire rod rolling has been reached: on-line coil head and tail cropping is now possible with the installation of the Danieli Morgardshammar high speed cropping shear right in front of the laying head. Good croppingreliability and coil shape are associated with substantial reductions in manpower and savings in lay-out.
