Driven by market demand for 'near net shape' and 'chipless' forming have become popular phrases. Today, R&D engineers increasingly consider these manufacturing technologies, despite the fact that most existing designs are historically conditioned and still of conventional origin.The swaging process is a forming method for reducing the cross section area of bars and tubular components, by using two or more surrounding dies, which apply radial forces to the workpiece.
