Pittsburgh, PA-PPG Industries has unveiled new programs for coatings applicators and building owners/facility managers, and introduced a new warranty for Duranar fluoropolymer coatings applied to chrome-free, pretreated extruded aluminum surfaces. The purpose of PPG's new Certified Applicator Program (CAP) is to identify coating applicators that meet PPG's quality control standards for the application of Duranar, Duranar XL, Coraflon EX and Acrynar FX high-performance coatings to extruded metal architectural products. Henry Lowman, director of PPG's Certified Applicator Program, said the color uniformity and service demanded by architects motivated the initiative's development.
