It's a rare business leader who relishes a crisis, but sometimes tough times provide the necessary impetus for firms to innovate. This particular economic downturn has certainly brought with it plenty of tough times, but at least one architecture firm has responded to the challenge by forging a groundbreaking alliance for the industry. The recession has forced many architecture firms to downsize, while others have folded. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment in U.S. architecture firms plummeted by more than 25 percent between July and November 2009.
