Homogenization of 30CrMnSi steel ingots: thermodynamic/kinetic simulation and experimental validation

摘要

The as-cast nnicrosegregation profiles of a 30CrMnSi ingot were predicted by the diffusion-controlled transformations (DICTRA) software. Then, a conservative estimate of the solidification temperature range was provided by the modified Scheil module of Thermo-Calc software, the result was combined with the previous simulated microsegregation profiles that were used in the DICTRA software to simulate the homogenization kinetics of this steel. The simulated concentration profiles were confirmed by the experimental composition analysis, the good agreement between the simulation and experiments shows that the thermodynamic calculation and kinetic simulation approaches can be used to design an optimized homogenization heat treatment for as-cast ingots, which does not require a large amount of experimental data of test ingots.
