E-learning strategies to improve general practitioners' knowledge of age-related macular degeneration

What problems were addressed? Age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) is a major health problem in Western countries. The advent of intravitreal antiangiogenic drugs for its treatment has changed the outcomes in ARMD patients. However, these therapeutic options are relatively new and are unknown to many general practitioners (GPs), although earlier recognition of the problem is expected to reduce associated disability and burden of care.
