Context and setting In Brazil, the concept of health care as a universal right is a fundamental precept of the national health system, the Sistema Unico de Saude (SUS), which was founded on principles of universality, equity, integrality and social control. However, topics such as human, sexual and reproductive rights are generally absent from pedagogic processes in medical and nursing schools.
