摘要

Context and setting Although professionalism is a core competency in medical education and is recognised by various accreditation bodies (e.g. the US Liaison Committee on Medical Education [LCME], the US Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education [ACGME]), there is no agreement on the best way to cultivate it. Most studies report the use of a formal curriculum to teach professionalism. Some studies have addressed the influence of a hidden curriculum, such as that conveyed by role models and institutional culture. A few studies have called attention to a hidden curriculum for digital professionalism. However, the relationship between online social networking and medical professionalism remains unclear.
