New Editor for The Clinical Teacher

The Association for the Study of Medical Education and Blackwell Publishing are delighted to announce a new editor for The Clinical Teacher, a new quarterly journal aimed at practising clinician teachers. Subscribers to Medical Education receive The Clinical Teacher as part of their subscription.Professor John Spencer qualified from Edinburgh University in 1973 and became a general practice principal on Tyneside in 1981. He has been involved in health care education for over 20 years, mostly undergraduate medical education, but also postgraduate medical, pre- and post-registration nursing, pharmacy and paramedic training, vocational training for general practice, continuing professional development, team building in primary care, undergraduate veterinary education, and staff development. He has a Chair in Medical Education at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne where he is Sub-Dean for Primary and Community Care. Particular curricular interests include professionalism, communication skills, community-based teaching and learning, and staff development.
