UKMT Senior Team Maths Challenge

In February, 252 of the best Mathematics students in UK schools and colleges worked in teams to solve challenging mathematical problems for over three and a half hours. It was the final of the Senior Team Maths Challenge, which is run by the UK Mathematics Trust (www.ukmt.org.uk) and the Further Mathematics Support Programme www.furthermaths.org.uk), and sponsored by HP Cal-culators. This year over 1,000 schools and colleges from around the UK entered, competing in over 50 regional heats and 63 teams pro-gressed to the Final. The overall champions this year were a team of four students from Alton College in Hampshire, who were presented with the trophy by Mark Higgins of HP Calculators.
