Employers' Forum Rolls-Royce: Mathematics in the Industrial Workplace

The 4th Employers' Forum took place on the 12 February and I would like to express my thanks to Rolls-Royce at Derby; the hosts for the day. The Employers' Forum is an event which facilitates the meeting of those with an interest in the education, recruitment, professional development and retention of mathematicians in a commercial or industrial setting. Since this is a novel focus for an event, the delegates are often individuals who would not normally share a conference room as they tend to originate from a variety of sectors. The result has been a series of events which have been very informative with effective networking opportunities. There have already been particularly fruitful discussions on the definition and provision of employability skills.
