Slight dip in freight rates in Asian dry-bulk markets

Frices have softened in the Asian dry-bulk markets this week, following a drop in Brazilian iron ore shipments. Only a handful of ships were heard to have been fixed. On the Baltic Exchange (BE), rates for capes on Pacific round voyage, route C10_3, slid more than 13% week-on-week to $20,341/ day on November 11, from the previous Tuesday's $23,068/day. A similar downward trend was seen in the Asian panamax market as coal trading out of Indonesia remained thin.
