Innovative injection device wins Imagineering 2002 award

A portable, credit card sized device capable of delivering an emergency injection of adrenaline both quickly and easily won this year's first prize in the UK final of Imangineering, the design competition run by DuPont Engineering Polymers.The Ad-Card, by Adam Slawson of South Bank University impressed the judges by offering a creative solution to a problem while using a novel and simple design, which exploited the benefits of DuPont's Crastin PBT. Second and third prizes went to a portable water filtration unit and an indicator for cyclists. The theme of this year's competition was 'Safety in Recreation and Leisure' and, by winning the UK final, the Ad-Card will go on to contest the European, Middle East and African finals in November this year.
