But the new owners of a traditional jobbing foundry in the north of England would counter-argue that actually investing in our industry makes absolute sense Co-owners Mike Powell, Graham Jagger and Robert Fotheringham are all staunch foundrymen who understand the business and who are keen to show that a foundry can be run as a successful venture if you have the right attitude, the cash to back this up and the people to carry you forward. Armed with a lifetime in the industry, financial backing from the bank and a point to prove, this trio of foundrymen purchased Batley Foundries Ltd on 3rd July this year and have already set about developing the business into a 21st century engineering company.
