Metallic Abrasives for Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Foundries

Fifty members and guests attended the meeting in March to hear John Moore of Metalltechnik (UK) Ltd talk on abrasives for the foundry industry. John explained that the first use of metallic abrasive was for the stone cutting industry abroad and later in the UK, the first manufacture being in Middlesborough in 1915 and later in Darlaston in the West Midlands circa 1933, with another plant in Great Bridge.
