NORTHEAST SECTION

The Northeast Section held its Fall meeting on October 13, 2001 at Advanced Glass Technology in Bloomington, New York. Let me start by complimenting Adolph and Inga Gunther on hosting the finest meeting I've been to in years. Adolph and Inga put together an interesting program and treated us to a true Bavarian Festival including an Oompa Band in which Adolph even took part. I would also like to thank very much our sponsors: Lunzer Inc., VM Glass, North Jersey Diamond Wheel, and Wilt industries for all of their support not just at this meeting but for their support of the Society year round.We started off with our business meeting. Many topics were covered such as a survey that we will be conducting to query members on attendance at meetings, satisfaction with the Society and other various issues that are impacting our Society. I am also proud to announce that the Northeast Section will be donating 100 dollars to both the Junior Member Workshop and the Regular Member Glassblowing Seminars for the upcoming 2002 Symposium in Alabama. Director Allan Brown discussed current topics for the BOD meeting in November, and President-Elect Ed Powell treated us to an update on current ASGS issues.
