One of the things that I catch myself doing these days, when processing new certificates, is looking at the age of the requested member. This probably would have not been the case some thirty-three years ago when I started as a glassblowerrThe reality of starting a career at eighteen and working until retirement is more of an exception to the rule. This got me thinking about how important it is to be an active member of our educational Society, the ASGS. What a wonderful advantage new members have this day and age with the capability to ask technical questions to a group of knowledgeable peers all over the country, in having the Fusions and Proceedings available on CD's, and now the Technical Demonstrations on DVD's. I would suggest that all of you take full advantage of these resources.
