A Method of Making 4-6 mm o.d. All-Glass Reference Electrodes

A piece of scrap 33 expansion glass is cleaned and rinsed with deionized water and a 500 ml beaker is filled with de-ionized water. The scrap of glass is heated and dropped into the water, where hopefully it will break into many small pieces. Larger unbroken pieces are reheated and again dropped into the water, as many times as necessary. The water is then poured off, and the glass dried in the oven.
