The past 12 months have seen strong signs of growth and strengthening economic confidence, with an increasing number of companies investing in high-technology machinery to gain competitive advantage. Matsuura's growth over recent years has continued in 2005 at an accelerated rate. Through focusing upon fully engineered process solutions, Matsuura has experienced its highest sales results ever, in terms of both quantity of machines installed and overall business turnover. In the area of smaller but more complex component production, the incorporation of simultaneous 5-axis machine configuration combined with traditional Matsuura performance capabilities have resulted in the company's best ever UK sales results for 5-axis machines. The number of 5-axis machines installed by Matsuura in 2005 is double the figure for last year, and they have proved increasingly popular with the aerospace, medical and motorsport sectors.
