A novel spacer fabric is being used for cushions to prevent pressure sores or decubitus ulcers. The Airospring cushion was created following seven years of R&D by Professor Subhash Anand MBE, of the University of Bolton's Institute for Materials Research and Innovation (IMRI), retired engineer Bryan McArdle and Baltex Technical Textiles.
