High prices for gasoline at the fuel pump have consumers worried about similar cost increases in fuels for winter home heating.A number of U.S.government agencies are addressing these concerns,and working to offer solutions that could increase the use of fuel cell systems.House Representative Dennis Cardoza(Democrat,Calif.)has introduced"The Empowering Act of 2006."For businesses that purchase and install fuel cell power or solar energy systems,the legislation would extend the 30% credit allowed by the Energy Policy Act of 2005,set to expire in 2007,to 2015.
