Biology and epidemiology of the causal agent of mango black spot disease.

摘要

Black spot disease is a serious threat to mango crops in many tropical and subtropical countries. Available data on Xanthomonas campestris pv. mangiferaeindicae, the causal agent, is analysed. The analysis takes into consideration various componentsthat characterize the activity of the bacterium, including geographical distribution, symptomatology, biology, epidemiology, conservation and dissemination mechanisms. The study concludes with recommendations of control measures that should be taken tomaintain mango black spot infections well below the economic damage threshold.
