Apples from China: the market is almost saturated !

In January and February 2005, the market for Fuji apples from China deteriorated strongly. In Europe, the average price dropped to about 50 Euro cents per kg, with sales on commission down to 30 Euro cents. "The surplus supply was responsible for thisdecrease", explains Amir Houteman, who has been handling this origin of apples for many years now within the Citronas company. "The market is not growing very rapidly, even in Southern Europe, where this variety has the greatest potential".
