Of the total of eight universities in New Zealand, two offer courses in agricultural sciences, which of course include fruit and vegetable growing. These two universities are Massey University on North Island and Lincoln University on South Island. Massey offers its agricultural courses in Palmerston North and in Auckland and is also New Zealand's university for distance learning. The campus of the Lincoln University is in Christchurch.
