'Invaluable' is one word that could be used to describe Nuffield Scholar Derek Schulz's trip to United States and Europe in 2001. After winning his scholarship in 2000, Mr Schulz jetted off overseas and returned with a renewed optimism for farming and with knowledge that he has now implemented on his Lockyer Valley vegetable farm. "Before I went, I thought our farm was the world. The trip really opened my eyes," said Mr Schulz.
