Global law firm behemoth DLA Piper for the first time edged out rival Baker & McKenzie to become the nation’s top-grossing firm, according to annual listings from The American Lawyer. The firm in 2012 brought in more than $2.44 billion, an 8.6% increase over the previous year. This was in no small part due to DLA Piper’s extensive business representing oil and gas clients.
